Hower Wins Discus as Throwers Impress

York, Pa. - After a successful weekend in Charlotte, the Millersville women's track and field team returned to action in the York College Twilight Meet Wednesday. Vanessa Hower made headlines with a 37.02 toss in the discus which earned the senior first place. Sunflower Greene placed fourth with a distance of 33.91 meters and Rebecca Grube placed sixth as she registered a mark of 32.66 meters.
In the hammer throw, Amanda Myers and Olivia Misner placed second and third respectively. The 44.39 meter toss from Myers was a PSAC qualifier and her personal record. Misner also hit a personal record and PSAC qualifying mark with a distance of 42.55. Grube placed fourth in the hammer thow with a distance of 39.27.
In the 1,500 meter run, Taylor Mauro ran a 5:23.68 and Greene won the shot put with a toss of 40-5.
