Greensburg, Pa. – Millersville and Seton Hill each won five matches, but a pair of technical falls for the Griffins at the 133 and 141 weight class was the difference in a 20-19 PSAC dual win.
Tyler Kenney (133) and Joseph Alessandro (141) were the Griffins who stepped up most, each earning technical falls and helping the Griffins survive with a one point victory.
Millersville had some big success of their own, most notably
Trenton Cook's pin at 174. It took Cook 1:18 to defeat his opponent, cutting Seton Hill's lead down to six at the time.
Cook's win had the Marauders trailing 17-13 heading into the final three matches. Millersville nearly completed the comeback.
Evan Morrill and
David Wuestner each finished the match off with wins by decision, at 197 and 285, respectively. Despite Millersville winning four of the closing five matches, they could not quite catch the Griffins.
Seton Hill never fell behind, and was helped by an impressive start, opening up with a 14-0 lead. Â At 125, Alan Dilitz furthered their cause with a 10-2 major decision to help the Griffins jump out to the early lead right out of the gates.
In the middle of the match, Millersville took two of three matches.
Shane Ruhnke started off the Marauders strong finish in the 165 pound weight class, as he picked up a 7-2 win by decision.
David Charles also had a convincing W for Millersville, as he earned a 13-2 major decision win in the 149 weight class.
Ty Lydic split the Marauders success, getting the win at 157. He just barely defeated D.J. Mele, by a slim 3-2 margin.
