Complete Game Notes (.PDF)GAME OVERVIEW• The Millersville/Bloomsburg series has been among the most competitive in the PSAC in recent years, but home court is vital. The Marauders have won 14 consecutive games against Bloomsburg in Pucillo Gymnasium. The last time the Huskies won in the building was in 2001. Neither team has swept the season series since Millersville did it six times from 2001-02 through 2007-08. 10 of the last 14 games have been decided by single digits and three of the last 10 have gone to overtime, including triple OT games in 2011 and 2013.
• The Marauders have dropped 12-straight games and eight-straight conference contests after falling 76-64 to Shippensburg on Saturday. The Marauders were led on offence by
Markeith Mont's 15 points as
Ricky Mosley and
Ryan Beck also finished in double figures with a 13 and 11 points apiece.
Shawn Williams finished with eight points, which is the first time all season the senior guard failed to score 10 or more points.
• Millersville is 16th in the PSAC in scoring, averaging 66.9 points per contest; the Marauders have reached 70 points just five times in 14 games this season, including a season-high 79 against California (Pa.).
• The Marauders will look to take better care of the ball on Wednesday after averaging 10 or more turnovers in each game during its current losing streak. The Marauders have turned the ball over 243 times, which is the fourth most in the PSAC.
• Senior guard is amongst the PSAC scoring leaders checking in at No. 6 with 17.5 points per contest. Williams has also stepped up to be the Marauders team leader in rebounding as he averages 5.6 boards and has collected a total of 82 on the season.
• Holding the Huskies to a cold-shooting night from three-point range will surely be a key for Millersville's defense on Wednesday. Bloomsburg entered last week ranked seventh in the PSAC in three-point shooting (35.3%) but combined to make only 7-of-42 (16.7%) from long distance during the week and it was a major contributing factor in the team losing two-straight. The Huskies did, however, extend its streak of consecutive games with a three-pointer made to 141 straight contests. The last time Bloomsburg did not make a triple was on December 4, 2010 – a 54-51 loss at Lock Haven. Senior Malik Garner scored 13 points at Edinboro and 15 at Kutztown and has now reached double figures in five of the last six games. Redshirt senior Wes Lyons scored a season-high 16 points in the loss at Kutztown on Saturday. The Huskies finish their week hosting Lock Haven on Saturday.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT• After enjoying a modest two-game win streak, Bloomsburg has dropped two-straight PSAC contests. Despite having four players score in double figures (Christian Mortellite, Wes Lyons, Malik Garner and Donell Diggs) the Huskies still suffered a 99-76 loss at Kutztown in its most recent contest. Bloomsburg made a season-low two three-pointers and shot a season-low 15.4% from long distance (2-of-13).
• Bloomsburg is getting production from a number of different players this season as 12 of the 15 players who have played at least one game this year have registered at least 19 points - and all 15 have scored at least one point. The bench has outscored the opponents' bench in eight of the first 14 games and by a total margin of 375-362. The Huskies are led offensively by Christian Mortellite who averages 18.9 points per game and scored 20 points against Kutztown - his eighth 20-point effort of the season. He was held without a three-pointer for just the third time this season but went 8-for-8 at the free throw line to improve his percentage from the charity stripe to 91.1% on the year (72-of-79).
