
Ann Kovacs Named to 2015 Capital One Academic All-District Women’s Track & Field Team

Millersville, Pa. – Millersville University senior Ann Kovacs was named to the 2015 Capital One Academic All-District II Women's Track & Field Team for Division II athletics on Thursday, May 21.
Kovacs, a 2013-14 PSAC Scholar Athlete and a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honoree, is a mathematics major who graduated from Millersville earlier this month. The Bethlehem, Pa., native maintained a 3.95 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) during her senior year.
During the indoor and outdoor seasons, Kovacs competed in both the weight and hammer throws and qualifying for the PSAC Championships in each of the respective events. At the indoor championships, she placed 10th in the weight throw with a 14.08 toss. During the spring season, Kovacs produced a NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships Provisional Qualifying effort in the hammer throw with a mark of 51.53 meters. Kovacs earned All-PSAC honors at the PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a second-place throw of 50.97 meters.
The 2015 Capital One Academic All-District Women's Track & Field Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. The 2015 Capital One Academic All-America ® Teams, for which Kovacs is eligible, will be announced Wednesday, June 24.
