
Hower Tosses a NCAA Provisional Mark at Penn Relays

Philadelphia, Pa. – The Millersville women's track and field team competed in two events during day one of the 121st Annual Penn Relays. The highlight came from Vanessa Hower htting both a season best and NCAA provisional standard in the hammer throw.
Hower finished in 10th with a mark of 51.28 meters, which was 1.28 meters farther than her previous best effort. The toss ranked second among Division II throwers at the prestigious event. Teammate Ann Kovacs also competed in the hammer throw with her top heave measured at 48.12 meters. Kovacs finished the event in 21st place overall.
Erin Madison competed in the 400-meter hurdles for the Marauders and placed 22nd out of 57 competitors. Madison crossed the finish line with a recorded time of 1:02.30.
Millersville will compete in the Pault Kaiser Classic on Saturday, April 25 in Shippensburg Pa.
