Millersville, Pa. – The Millersville track and field team is eager to prove itself in the lone home meet of the 2015 spring season. The 33rd annaul Millersville Metrics is set for Saturday, April 4.
In 2014, the Marauders put on a show at Biemesderfer Stadium by winning the Millersville Metrics meet with 142 points. The Black & Gold doubled the point totals of second-place West Chester (71.50) and Indiana (Pa.) who finished in third with 52 points.
Outstanding efforts included Vanessa Hower recording a meet record and NCAA provisional throw of 50.17 meters in the hammer. Erin Madison finished first in the 400-meter hurdles (1:05.11) and second in the 100-meter hurdles (15.29). Saturday's meet marks the second outdoor event of the season for the Marauders who had a strong showing at the highly competitive Raleigh Relays on March 27-28 in Raleigh, N.C. Strong performances were turned in by Kiara Allen who finished ninth in the 100-meter dash with a 12.31 recorded time, Erin Madison who raced to an eighth place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.97, and Amanda Myers who placed 12th overall in the javelin with a throw that traveled 38.92 meters which was the seventh best distance in program history.
Head Coach Andy Young has high expectations for his squad as they are prepared to showcase their talents on its home turf.
