Series Information

Last Season: 1-3
First Meeting: 1984 (Ville 11, Mansfield 5)
Last Meeting: 2015 (Ville 7, Mansfield 3)

• The Millersville softball team pulled within two and a half games of East Stroudsburg in the fourth place spot of the Eastern Division after Friday afternoon's sweep of Shippensburg on the road. Those two wins also completed the Marauders' season sweep of the Raiders.

• These two teams last met on April 2 in Mansfield and split the doubleheader with the Mountaineers taking game one 3-2 and Millersville coming out on top in the day's rematch, 7-3.

• Millersville has seven games remaining in the 2015 regular season including its final home doubleheader against Mansfield, a single game at Kutztown (April 21) that was suspended from April 7 and two road series against the likes of Bloomsburg (April 24) and Lock Haven (April 25).

• Jordan Sheffield is the hottest player on the team right now as she currently rides an eight-game hitting streak that has brought her average up 42 points from .258 to a team-leading .300. I
n that span, Sheffield is hitting a red-hot .444 (12-of-27) with seven runs scored, two doubles, three home runs, six RBIs, an .852 slugging percentage, and a .483 on-base percentage. Her home run on Friday in game two against Ship gave her 12 career home runs, which is tied for first in the program's history.

• Heather Lutz currently owns the team's second-longest hitting streak that is six games long. During that streak, she is hitting an even .400 (6-for-15) with five runs scored, two doubles, one home run, one RBI, two walks, two hit-by-pitches, and only two strikeouts. The sophomore left fielder has tallied a hit in 10 of her last 11 games and that has brought her average up 49 points from .191 on April 6 to .240.

• Brianna Andraos became Millersville's all-time career leader in innings pitched after her six and a third inning performance on April 13 at West Chester. The junior hurler has also moved into second place for strikeouts (215) and is second in victories (34).

• The Mountaineers come in having lost 11 of their last 13 games and that stretch started with a 7-3 loss in game two of a doubleheader with Millersville on April 2.

• Mansfield has two hitters with an average of .300 or above including Courtney Bauder (.311) and Taylor Chidester (.300). Bauder is tied for fourth in the PSAC in triples with three.

• Pitching wise, the Mountaineers' most reliable pitcher has been Ashley Inman, without a doubt. The junior right-hander has an ERA of 2.78 through 88 innings pitched with a great strikeout-to-walk ratio of 61 and 23. Her 11 complete games are tied for sixth in the conference and her 88 innings pitched are good for ninth.
