
Track & Field Dominates the Hammer Throw at Shippensburg Quad Meet

Shippensburg, Pa. – Ann Kovacs, Vanessa Hower, Olivia Misner, and Amanda Myers placed first, second, sixth and eighth respectively at the Shippensburg Invitational on Wednesday afternoon.
Kovacs took home first with a season best distance of 50.66 meters, which ranks the senior fourth in the PSAC on the outdoor performance list. The Bethlehem, Pa., natives' top throw was just .01 meters away from an NCAA Division II provisional mark. Hower earned the Marauders eight more team points and also produced her top distance of the spring, with her final throw traveling 50.00 meters. Olivia Misner scored a sixth place finish with a 42.10 meter throw. Amanda Myers just missed out on qualifying for the PSAC Championships as her eighth-place throw traveled 38.98 meters.
In the discus throw, Rebecca Grube finished in eighth. Grube surpassed her season-best distance by .23 meters with her throw traveling 33.04 meters.
Sprinter Kiara Allen was the lone athlete to compete in a track event for Millersville. Allen participated in the 400-meter run for the first time of the 2015 season and scored the Marauders' one team point crossing the finish line eighth at 1:00.34.
The Marauders will compete at the All-American Invitational on Saturday, April 18 on the East Stroudsburg campus. Events are scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.
