
Marauders Produce Solid Results at Bill Butler Invitational

West Chester, Pa. – On day two of the West Chester Invitational, the Millersville women's track and field team won three events and took three of the top-five spots in the women's hammer throw. Marauders won the hammer throw, the 800-meter run, and the high jump.
Junior Erin Madison started the day by winning the 800-meter run with a PSAC qualifying time of 2:20.01. The mark represented the Marauders' top time of the spring season. Taylour Mauro also competed in the event and finished in 14th place with a 2:34.86 recorded time.
In the 1,500-meter run Amanda Long ran the fastest time to date for Millersville as she crossed the finish line at 5:09.10. It was good for a fourth-place finish.
In the field events, Arianna Camel won the high jump with her season-best effort of 1.58 meters. Teammate Lexi Schrivano also competed in the event and finished fourth with her top jump clearing 1.48 meters. Camel also competed in the long jump and produced a Marauder best third-place finish in the event. The Gettysburg product top jump traveled 5.12 meters. Erin Harman competed in the event for the first time in her colligate career and her 4.87 meter finish generated a ninth-place effort.
Jess Fritsche qualified for the PSAC Outdoor Championships in the triple jump with her top jump measuring at 10.82 meters. Harman just missed out on qualifying for the championships with her 10.59 meter finish earning her a fourth place result.
In the pole vault, sophomore Jessica White scored a second place finish clearing 2.90 meters in third round of jumps. The Marauders also produced a fourth place finish as Carly Ott top jump tied with teammate Katherine Geating at 2.60 meters.
Ann Kovacs finished first the hammer throw with her top heave traveling 49.60 meters. Teammate Vanessa Hower finished in second with a 48.67 meter toss. Olivia Misner also finished within the top-5 as her 41.69 meter throw earned the redshirt sophomore a fourth place finish.
Madie Tropp crossed the finish line in second place for the 100-meter hurdles (16.67.). Tropp also finished second in the women's high jump heptathlon with a best effort of 1.43 meters.
Coach Andy Young's squad also had athletes competing in the Bison Invitational with results expected to be posted on Sunday, April 12.
