Millersville Takes Second at Kutztown Spring Invite; Gentry Earns First Career Medalist Honors

Kutztown, Pa. - Freshman Jennifer Gentry earned medalist honors for the first time in her career on Saturday as part of the Kutztown Spring Invitational while the team placed second out of seven squads with a 337 and was one stroke behind the homestanding Golden Bears in first place. The Marauders have placed third or better in seven of their 11 tournaments with two to play in the 2014-15 season.

Gentry turned in a career-low 81 (+7) and Shannon Weber was the next best Marauder as she shot a 10-over-par 84 to finish in a tie for fifth and earned a ninth top-10 finish in her first 11 career events. Jaimie Wharton tied for eighth with an 85 (+11), Kendal Olear tied for 13th with an 87 (+13) and Danielle Freed put every Millersville golfer in the top 25 as she tied for 18th with an 89 (+15).

The Marauders have two events remaining for 2014-15 including the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational in West Chester (4/12-13) and the East Stroudsburg Invitational (4/19-20).
