Weber's First-Place Finish Keys Marauders to Tournament Win

Elkton, Md. - Shannon Weber's 11-over-par 83 keyed the Millersville women's golf team to a first-place finish at the weather-shortened Ursinus Invitational on Sunday in Elkton, Md. It was Weber's third first-place finish in her last five matches and the team's second tournament title of 2014-15.
Weber opened the spring season with her seventh round of 83 or lower. Teammate Jaimie Wharton scored her fifth top-10 finish this season by shooting a 13-over-par 85, finishing in third place. As a team, the Marauders posted a 69-over-par 357 to run away with the team title. East Stroudsburg finished in a distant second place with a 394.
All four of the Marauders' counting scores finished in the top 10. Jennifer Gentry shot a 94 to finish fifth. Danielle Freed and Kendal Olear both shot 96's to tie for eighth.
Millersville has an opportunity for a second consecutive team win as its next tournament comes on its home course: Crossgates in Millersville. The two-round event beings on March 28.
