Complete Game Notes (.PDF)GAME OVERVIEW• This marks the 77th meeting between Millersville and Kutztown. Millersville has owned the series to the tune of 55-21 and has won 26 of the last 29 meetings between the two teams dating back to February of 2002. Millersville is 31-4 at Pucillo vs. Kutztown all-time and hasn't lost at home to KU since 2001. The last time these two teams met on Dec. 6 of 2014, the Golden Bears tied the game with 16:53 left but the Marauders answered with a 19-9 run over the next six minutes.
Carly Gallagher scored 20 points in the second half and 12 during that run alone. Kutztown's leading scorer Advia Campbell was held to just two points and three rebounds in 20 minutes of action.
• Most recently, Millersville defeated Mansfield on Wednesday by a score of 83-72 inside Decker Gymnasium. That win marked a career high for the Marauders in both points and field goal percentage with a clip of 54.4 percent. Millersville hadn't shot that well from the floor since Feb. 28, 2006 in Pucillo against Mansfield when it went 28-of-49 or 57.1 percent. The victory also marked the Marauders' first in exactly one month since defeating Clarion on Jan. 4. In that game, Millersville scored 79 points, which was the team's previous season high in points.
• The Marauders are in the top third of the PSAC in scoring defense (sixth/61.3 points per game), field goal percentage defense (first/36.2 percent), rebounding margin (fifth/+4.4), and blocked shots (fourth/3.6 blocks per game).
• The most noticeable void for Millersville in Gallagher's absence has come behind the arc. The Marauders shot 32.8 percent from three to open the season but in the eight games since the injury, they are shooting just 19.1 percent (18-of-94) from 3-point land. Individually,
Shelby Reimer has gone cold from long range. In the first 15 games of the season, she was shooting 32.6 percent from there. However, in the seven games since, she has shot just 18.8 percent from behind the arc and is just four of her last 25 from three.
• This is crucial game within the PSAC East playoff race. There is currently a three-way tie for fourth place in the division between Kutztown, East Stroudsburg and Millersville. The Marauders split with ESU this season and took the first meeting with Kutztown. The Golden Bears enter today on a three-game winning streak and had lost four straight prior to that. This three-game span features a 78-69 win over West Chester (Jan. 31) who currently sits in second place in the East and has already clinched a PSAC Tournament berth.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT• The Golden Bears are led by a pair of scorers averaging double figures in Advia Campbell (11.1) and Kelsey Watson (10.3). Those two are also the team's top rebounders averaging 8.0 and 7.6 boards per contest, respectively. When these two teams last met on Dec. 6, Watson scored a team-high 17 points on 8-of-12 shooting but Campbell was held to just two points and three rebounds in 20 minutes of action. Two other scorers found the double figure mark including Alyssa Bonenberger (12) and Natalya Lee (11). Lee filled up the statsheet in that game with eight rebounds as well as five assists. On the season, Campbell has scored in double figures 14 times and broke the 20-point mark once on Jan. 19 against USciences when she had 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting to go with nine rebounds, two steals, one assist, and one block.
