Weekend Overview
- The Marauders enters the weekend with a 14-11 record overall going 5-10 in PSAC play. Millersville is on a three-match winning streak and most recently defeated East Stroudsburg in three sets at home. Lock Haven is 15-10 on the year (7-7 PSAC) and most recently defeated West Chester in straight sets. Pitt-Johnstown is currently 22-3 overall and 13-1 in the PSAC. The Mountain Cats will play at Shippensburg Friday before heading to Millersville Saturday.
Series History
- Millersville dropped both matches in three sets against Lock Haven in 2014 and are 10-27 all-time against the Bald Eagles since their first meeting in 1991. The Marauders have only faced Pitt-Johnstown 7 times since their first meeting in 1990 and trail the series three matches to four. Last year, the Mountain Cats swept Millersville in straight sets twice.
The Marauder Leaders
- Senior and libero Brooklyn Smith has steadily been near the top of the PSAC charts and is now fourth in digs per set (5.63) and in total digs (509). The career leader for digs at Millersville, Smith has recorded 2,241 up to this point in her career. Fellow senior Taylor Smith enters the weekend fifth all-time at Millersville with 179 service aces and is tied with her teammate Grace Dawson for fifth in the PSAC with 43 aces this season.
- Dawson had a huge week earning PSAC East Player of the Week honors after recording three double-doubles in Millersville victories. Dawson's 771 assists currently rank her as eighth in the PSAC in that category. At the net, Sophomore Erin Harman leads the attack for Millersville totaling 275 kills on the year including a combined 29 against Kutztown and East Stroudsburg.
- Lock Haven has a trio of impact players the Marauders will have to be ready for as Jessica Brown, Sarah Gomish and Gabrielle Stick each lead the Bald Eagles in at least two statistical categories. The senior Brown has a team-high 869 assists and 25 service aces while Gomish has recorded 327 kills on 1025 attacks thus far in the year which ranks her fifth best in the PSAC. Just a freshman, Stick leads the way in solo blocks (17), block assists (35) and total blocks (52.0) entering the weekend.
- Kendall Mahony has been a force this season for Pitt-Johnstown this year recording 255 kills on 530 total attacks. Mahony's .355 attack percentage is second best in the PSAC and leads the Mountain Cats with 36 service aces. Cambria Wierman leads the Mountain Cats with 266 kills and Allison Mondorff has a team-high 567 assists. Defensively, Devan Orr ranks first in the PSAC with 517 digs and Madeline George leads Pitt-Johnstown with 68 total blocks.
