Women’s Swimming Downs Juniata

Juniata, Pa. – The Millersville women's swimming team picked up its first dual meet victory of the 2015-16 season with a 135-63 win over Juniata on Saturday afternoon.
The Marauders scored first-place finishes in nine of the 11 events on the afternoon. Both the 200-yard medley and the 200-yard freestyle relay teams picked up top finishes as well for Millersville.
In the first event of the meet, the 200-yard medley relay team of Lizzie Ebert, Janelle Laudermilch, Jaime Cessna and Brigid Kavanaugh swam to a first-place finish with a time of 2:10.20.
Grace Magerr broke the pool record in the 800-meter freestyle in the second event at Binder Natatorium. Magerr finished the event in 9:43.96, which also qualifies her for the PSAC Championships in February. Magerr also finished first in the 400-meter freestyle as she touched the wall in 4:44.87.
Rachel Malampy finished first in the 200-meter freestyle with a recorded time of 2:18.14. Lizzie Ebert, Emily Fusco and Jaime Cessna finished first, second and third respectively. Elbert had the top time of 2:40.34. Fusco had just over a five second cushion in the 100-meter backstroke as she finished the event first with a recorded time of 1:09.17.
The meet's final event saw the Marauders finish first in the 200-yard freestyle relay as Jessica Nicolet, Grace Magerr, Teagan Hanlon and Brigid Kavanagh teamed up for the win. The quartet finished the relay in 1:59.86.
Millersville returns to action Oct. 31 when it hosts the Lock Haven Bald Eagles. The dual meet from Pucillo Natatorium is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
