Marauders Lose to East Stroudsburg

Box Score Millersville, Pa. - East Stroudsburg outscored the Millersville women's basketball team 21-9 in points off turnovers, 12-3 on second chance buckets and 22-8 in bench scoring on the way to a 61-35 loss for the Marauders Saturday afternoon inside Pucillo Gymnasium. 35 points marked Millersville's lowest output since Dec. 21, 2009 at Holy Family (35-54). 

Millersville (10-11, 7-9 PSAC) dropped its seventh-straight game for the first time since the 1990-91 season and suffered its worst loss to ESU since the 1950-51 campaign (13-64). The Warriors (9-11, 8-8 PSAC) have now won three of their last four games.

The two teams tied five times in the first half with the final one coming at the 4:35 mark when it was 18-18. That score came in the midst of an 11-2 run that ended the half for East Stroudsburg and the Warriors headed into the locker room up six, 24-18. Out of the intermission, the home team cut the deficit to four, 29-25, with a 7-3 run. However, the visitors scored the next 14 points to take complete command, 43-25. East Stroudsburg went on to lead by as many as 26 as it was in the final score.

Alayah Hall started for the first time in her career and led the Marauders in scoring with a personal-best 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting to go with eight rebounds, one assist and one steal. The Warriors earned 18 steals to 10 for Millersville as the Black and Gold tallied 23 giveaways to just four assists. The Marauders were 0-for-9 from behind the arc and held without a made 3-pointer for the first time since Dec. 19, 2006 against California (Pa.) when they went 0-of-8.
