
Erin Harman Breaking a School Record Among Marauder Highlights at the Tiger Open

Princeton, N.J. – A week after impressing in the Kutztown Collegiate Invitational the Millersville women's track and field team followed it up with an even better display at the Tiger Open on Saturday.
The Marauders traveled to Princeton, N.J. where they competed against student-athletes from 20 Division I, II and III programs in Jadwin Gymnasium. For the meet, participants hailed from: Bowie State, Bryn Mawr, Delaware, Georgian Court, Haverford, La Salle, Maryland, Millersville, Monmouth, Moravian, Penn, Rider, Rowan, St. Peter's, Swarthmore, TCNJ, Temple, Wesley, West Chester, and Williams.
The meet began with the participants taking part in field events. Highlighting the Marauder performances included freshman Erin Harman resetting the pole vault school record with a 3.25 meter jump. The dual sport athlete initially broke the record at last weekends meet when she cleared 10'8" inches. With her improvement, Harman was able to score a seventh place finish at the Tiger Open.
On the track, the 4x400 team ran a season best time of 4:03.99. Aniya Gibbs, Courtney Ingold, Amanda Long and Erin Madison showed great chemistry as they teamed up for the Marauders and secured a first place finish in section three of the event.
Madison earned a PSAC qualifying time in the 400-meter dash. Madison ran to a fifth place finish in the event and crossed the finish line with a recorded time of 58.78.
In the 60-meter hurdles Arianna Camel just missed out on making the finals in the event. Camel ran a season best time of 9.24 in the preliminaries and finished in ninth place. Her performance in the event was tops of all Division II athletes.
Kiara Allen also had herself an impressive afternoon. The redshirt junior was able to hit a PSAC qualifying time in the 200-yard dash with her 26.56 time and it also represented a season best effort. Allen also was able to race to a sixth place finish in the 60-meter dash with her 7.86 time.
The Marauders will use the next week to train for the John Covert Classic. The meet will take place next Saturday, inside Rauch Fieldhouse and is set to begin at 10 a.m.
