Women's Golf Wins Gettysburg Invitational; Shannon Weber Top Individual with 79

Littlestown, Pa. - Freshman Shannon Weber won her second consecutive tournament after placing first with a 79 (+7) at the Gettysburg Invitational. She was among four Marauders in the top five as the team won its first event of the 2014-15 season with a 20-stroke cushion and a program-best 325.
The Kutztown, Pa. native has now earned a top-10 finish in four of her first five career tournaments including three top-5's and two wins. In those five events, she has shot an 80 or below in four of a possible eight rounds. Sunday, she defeated Alvernia's Cayla McCarty by one stroke.
Jennifer Gentry, Kendal Olear and Jaimie Wharton all tied for third with a 10-over 82. That marked a career low for both Gentry and Olear. Danielle Freed rounded out the top 10 for Millersville with an 85 (+13).
Host Gettysburg took second place with a 345 and McDaniel concluded the top three with a total of 347.
Up next, Weber will return to her hometown as the Marauders compete in the Kutztown Fall Invitational Oct. 4-5.
