Bel Air Md. - The Millersville men's tennis team didn't start the 2014-15 season the way it might have hoped as it dropped the opening duel to Harford Community College 4-5.
Millersville (0-1) wasn't able to defeat the Hawks No. 1 player Murilo Basso or No. 2 Leo Sanches. Basso was pushed to three sets by senior Jody Sambrick Jr. but fell by a 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 score. Maruader No. 2 Kevin Tran fell in two sets by a 6-1, 6-0 score.
Pearson Clary pushed Andy Rao to three sets and prevailed with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 score. Millersville newcomer David Kann earned his first colligate victory defeating by a score of 6-2, 7-5.
Millsville will return to McComsey Tennis Courts Oct. 12 to battle Roberts Wesleyan College.
