Shannon Weber Ties for Ninth at Clarion Fall Invitational

Clarion, Pa. - Freshman Shannon Weber is quickly establishing herself as a force to be reckoned with on the Millersville women's golf team. Weber achieved her second top-10 finish in three events as she tied for ninth with a 165 at the Clarion Fall Invitational on Monday afternoon. The team finished in fifth out of eight teams with a total score of 685.
Weber shot an 81 (+9) in round one and turned in an 84 (+12) at the conclusion of round two for a total of +21. The next best finisher for the Marauders was Danielle Freed who tied for 24th with a two-day total of 172 (+28).
Jaimie Wharton came in at a tie for 26th with a combined score of 173 (+29) while Jennifer Gentry turned in a 178 (+34) in a tie for 34th and Kendal Olear finished in 36th with a score of 179 (+35). Olear's 89 in round two tied a career best and her total of 179 is a new personal low for 36 holes.
Lauren Capoferri made her Millersville debut with a 197 (+53) that ranked 46th on the leaderboard.
The Marauders next hosts the Millersville Invitational on Saturday Sept. 27 beginning at 1 p.m. at Crossgates Golf Club.
