Wharton Leads Marauder Golfers to Fourth Place at Kutztown Invitational

Kutztown, Pa. - Behind Jaimie Wharton's seventh-place finish, the Millersville women's golf team finished in fourth place at Saturday's Kutztown Spring Invitational at Berkleigh Country Club.
Millersville posted a 377 total on the par 74 course, finishing in the middle of the eight-team field. The Marauders finished eight shots in front of Le Moyne and eight shots behind West Chester. Kutztown took the team title witha 349 total.
Wharton recorded her second top-10 finish in as many tournaments this spring. She has placed in the top 10 in four of her last five tournaments and five total times in 2013-14. Wharton shot a 14-over-par 88, finishing four shots back of Kutztown's Jackie Clifton and Seton Hill's Emily Hassey.
Amber Rohrer made her spring debut with an 18-over-par 92. She finished in a tie for 14th. Freshman Danielle Freed placed in a tie for 23rd, and Kendal Olear placed 27th in the 45-player field. Cara Geiger placed 40th.
The Marauders begin play at the two-day Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational on Sunday at Penn Oaks Golf Club in West Chester.
