
Allen Makes it Four NCAA Provisional Marks for the Marauders

East Stroudsburg, Pa. - The Millersville women's track and field team took home first place in four events at the All-American Invitational. The day was highlighted by the Marauders' fourth NCAA provisional mark from Kiara Allen in the 100-meter dash and four other athletes qualifying for the PSAC Championships in their respective events.
Allen set a meet and Eiler-Martin Stadium record by finishing first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.96. It marked the best women's 200-meter time in the PSAC and the stadium record she broke was 25.10 set by Millersville's own Savena Pyett in 1985. Allen made it four NCAA provisional marks with her first-place 100 time of 12.04. That was also the best time for that event in the PSAC this season. Erin Mason finished third in the 100 (12.43) and second in the 200 (25.19).
Abigail Daley finished second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and qualified for PSAC's with a personal record time of 11:49.38.
The next conference qualifier was Megan Meyer, who earned a spot in the PSAC championship for the 400-meter dash and was clocked at 59.79, which was good for fourth place overall.
In the field events, Arianna Camel finished fifth in the high jump with a leap of 5-2.25 and qualified for PSAC's. Olivia Misner also made a reservation for Shippensburg in the hammer throw with a seventh-place toss of 40.03 meters. Millersville dominated the hammer throw once again taking six of the top eight places as well as 15th place. Ann Kovacs won the event with a throw of 50.80 meters.
Erin Madison continued her stellar sophomore season by placing first in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles with a time of 1:03.10.
The Marauders earned second-place finishes in the 4x100- and 4x400-meter relays. The 4x100 team included Camel, Mason, Jessica Fritsche, and Allen and was clocked at 48.06 while the 4x400 was made up of Meyer, Brittney Martin, Amanda Long, and Aniya Gibbs (3:59.00).
Long finished third in the 800-meter dash (2:19.67), Gibbs took sixth (2:27.74), Judith Costa I Iracheta came in at 12th place (2:33.68), and Taylour Mauro was 21st (2:39.81). Mauro also placed seventh in the 1,500 (5:17.63).
Millersville had three placers in the 3,000-meter run including Emily Leighow in 10th (11:51.50), Samantha Martin in 18th (12:34.43) and Victoria Carroll right behind her (12:38.73). It took Megan O'Neill 19:56.71 to finish in sixth for the 5,000-meter run.
In the pole vault, Katherine Geating was eighth (2.89 meters) and Carley Ott was 10th (2.74 meters). Fritsche's leap of 4.47 meters in the long jump ranked as the ninth best distance. Kelli Farris was sixth in the shotput (10.34 meters) and Misner was sixth in the javelin (36.49 meters).
Lastly, Vanessa Hower took fifth in the discus (35.62 meters), Rebecca Grube was seventh (32.93 meters) and Kelly Kardos finished in 11th (29.41 meters).
The Marauders will next compete at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa. on April 24.
