East Stroudsburg Sweeps Millersville on the Road

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 East Stroudsburg, Pa. - Millersville softball couldn't get its offense going on Saturday afternoon at East Stroudsburg as the Warriors snapped the Marauders' six-game winning streak by taking both games by scores of 1-0 and 3-0.

Millersville (22-22, 10-14 PSAC East) is now just 3-15 this season in true road games while East Stroudsburg (13-20, 8-10 PSAC East) won the season series 3-1 and has won four of its last five games.

GAME ONE RECAP
The Warriors scored their only run of the game on an RBI fielder's choice in the bottom of the fifth and there was no run support for Brianna Andraos. Andraos (14-11) gave up just that one earned run on four hits while striking out four batters and walking three. The sophomore right-hander has given up two runs or less in four consecutive starts.

In the first contest, the Marauders were held to only four hits and stranded eight baserunners. The Black and Gold were hitless (0-for-13) with runners on base and with runners in scoring position (0-of-7). Brittany Smith was the lone Marauder with multiple hits as she was 2-for-3 at the plate. Heather Lutz had a double in her two at-bats with a walk and is still second in the PSAC in two-baggers with 16.

Laura Suits (7-8) went the distance for ESU and tossed a shutout with three punchouts and two free passes.

GAME TWO RECAP
In game two, East Stroudsburg scored one in the second and tacked on two more in the sixth against Millersville starter, Amanda Wink.

Wink (5-9) surrendered three runs, two earned, on nine hits in six innings of work. However, Wink has given up two earned runs or less in six of her last eight appearances and her season ERA has dropped to 3.42 after it was up over five earlier in the season.

Rachael Liguori (3-8) took the win after seven shutout innings, allowed five hits, struck out six, and didn't walk a batter.

In the day's rematch, the Black and Gold left five on base, were 0-for-9 with runners on and 0-of-3 with runners in scoring position. Gabbie Berry was 2-for-3 at the dish with a double.

The Marauders round out their home schedule on April 25 against Shippensburg beginning at 2:30 p.m. and the team will recognize its only senior, Taylor Odell-Smith.
