Complete Game Notes (.PDF)GAME OVERVIEW• The Millersville women's basketball team (3-3, 1-1 PSAC East) last played on Sunday in Garden City, N.Y. against Adelphi and lost by a score of 81-50. The Panthers controlled points off turnovers (32-12), second-chance points (19-9), bench points (38-24), and the Marauders were held without a single fast-break point. For the game,
Carly Gallagher led all scorers with 19 points on 5-of-8 shooting and turned in an 8-for-10 performance at the free throw line. The fifth-year senior also registered four rebounds, two assists and one steal.
Alexis Martin led the team in rebounds with six and has led the squad in that category four out of the season's six games. Martin also had three steals while
Tyisha White added two assists.
 • There is a big difference between how well these two teams have been able to shoot from the floor overall. Mansfield is seventh in the PSAC in field goal percentage at 42.8 percent (139-of-325) while Millersville finds itself 16th out of 18 teams in the same category with a clip of 35.6 percent (124-for-348). When it comes to 3-point field goal percentage, the Mountaineers and Marauders are ranked 12th and 13th, respectively. For free throw shooting percentage, these two teams are on the bottom of the league's rankings.
• Entering this matchup,
Carly Gallagher is fifth in the conference in points per game at 16.8, has scored in double figures all six games this season and now finds herself 58 points away from the 1,000-point club. As of right now, her season average of 16.8 points per game is the highest in a season for her career. However, despite averaging double figures for her career (12.6), Gallagher has only scored 10-plus points once in five career games against the Mountaineers. She has averaged 6.6 points per game in those five contests.
• Even though it's early in the season, Millersville will be grateful to return to the friendly confinces of Pucillo Gymnasium. This season, the Marauders are 2-0 at home but just 1-3 when traveling to play. Dating back to the end of last season, Millersville has won two of its last six games away from Pucillo and five of six at home. This Mansfield game is sandwiched by a seven-game road trip for the Marauders.
• When looking at the all-time series, Millersville is obviously in complete control. the Mountaineers have only won three games all-time against the Marauders but none of those wins came inside Pucillo Gymnasium where Millersville holds a 33-0 edge.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT• Mansfield has gone just 1-4 to open its 2014-15 campaign including an 0-2 mark in PSAC East action. Alison Tagliaferri is currently in her third season at the helm of the Mountaineers basketball program after serving as interim head coach during the 2012-13 season. Tagliaferri has never beaten Millersville in her four attempts against the Black and Gold. So far this season, the lone scorer averaging double figures for Mansfield is Katie Fitzpatrick. The Drexel Hill, Pa., native is scoring 10.6 points per contest and also leads the team in assists per game at 3.6. Behind Fitzpatrick, three players are averaging right around nine points including Tianna Jackson (9.4), Brielle Kelly (9.2) and Becky Evans (9.2). Kelly also leads the Mountaineers in the rebounding category with 5.8 boards per contest.
