GAME OVERVIEW
• The Millersville women's basketball team (3-2, 1-1 PSAC East) was last in action on Monday, Nov. 24 and was handed a 71-60 loss by Division I Delaware State who won its first game of the 2014-15 season. The Marauders trailed the Hornets 51-29 with 15:30 to play in the second half before they used a 23-9 run to cut the deficit to eight. However, it was too little, too late for Millersville as it dropped a non-conference decision to Delaware State. The Marauders shot just 31.1 percent on the night compared to 45.3 by the Hornets. Millersville turned the ball over 19 times and eclipsed 18 for the fifth time in as many games. The Marauders took care of the ball much better in the second period with only seven giveaways in the second 20 minutes. Millersville sunk a season-high seven 3-pointers in 29 attempts from behind the arc.

• No. 25 Adelphi hasn't played since Tuesday, Nov. 25 but won that game convincingly over the College of Saint Rose by a score of 76-59 on the road. Leading the offense for the Panthers were Calli Balfour and Kelly Mannix with 24 and 20 points, respectively. The two also combined for 13 rebounds in the victory. Contributing also for Adelphi was Samantha Milhaven and Sierra Clark who each came off the bench and accounted for eight points apiece.

• The Panthers are among the top teams in the NE-10 in several statistical categories on both sides of the ball including points per game (first), field goal percentage defense (first), assists per game (second), opponent's points per game (third), field goal percentage (third), and 3-point field goal percentage (third).

• The Marauders continue to excel in the rebounding department. As a team, Millersville is second in offensive rebounds per game (17.6), fourth in rebounding offense (45.2), fourth in rebounding margin (+7.2), eighth in rebounding defense (38.0), and eighth in defensive rebounds per game (27.6). The Marauders will look to expose Adelphi on the glass as the Panthers are currently -4.6 in rebounding margin.

• Adding onto last season's matchup between these two teams, five scorers were in double figures for Adelphi and four of those five players are back for this season. However, Sade Jackson, who had 13 assists and seven points in the Pucillo Gymnasium affair is no longer with the team as she graduated after the 2013-14 season. The player who had the next-most assists in that game and returned for this season is Tara  Flynn who only had two helpers in that contest.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
• Adelphi has started this season much like they did the 2013-14 campaign. Last year, the Panthers were 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the Northeast-10 when they came to Millersville on Dec. 1 and they have the same record this year. However, the Marauders will be making the nearly 200-mile trek to Garden City, N.Y. to play on the road and Adelphi finds itself slotted No. 25 among the Division II ranks. The Panthers boast a very high-powered offense that is outscoring opponents by an average of nearly 18 points per game and shooting over 45 percent from the field at 45.7 (138-of-302). Adelphi is also shooting a red-hot 38.5 percent (35-for-91) from behind the arc. Individually, the attack is led by Kelly Mannix who is averaging a double double with 20 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. The Barrington, R.I. native is also shooting nearly 70 percent from the floor at 69.8 (37-of-53) and 61.9 percent (13-for-21) from deep.

• In last season's meeting, the Panthers' offense imposed its will by running away from MIllersville with a 95-53 score. The decision marked the Marauders' worst loss under head coach Mary Fleig and tied the most lopsided defeat for Millersville since Jan. 28, 1984. The closest the Marauders came in the second half was 74-39 as the away team cruised. Millersville was outscored heavily in points in the paint (48-18), points off turnovers (38-15), fast break points (20-4), and bench points (50-24).
