Ranieli named PSAC East Freshman of the Year along with a second team honor

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --- Freshman guard, Daniella Ranieli, was awarded the Freshman of the Year award for her outstanding performance in the Marauders' 2025-2026 season. Ranieli becomes the first freshman of the year nearly 30 years for the Marauders to win the award and only the second Marauder all-time to do so. The last freshman from Millersville to receive the honor was Sara Burcin for her performance that season. She is also the first player to be named to an All-PSAC Team since the 2023-24 season when Mikiah Shaw was named to the second team.

Ranieli's two-way threat on both sides of the ball was impressive all season and was one of the best Freshman years from a Freshman guard in its storied history. She led the Marauders in scoring with 13.1 points per game, 2.5 assists per game, and a very strong 1.8 steals per game. In her young career, she ended her first season with 380 points and 51 steals on efficient 38.6% shooting from the field and 36.9% from beyond the arc.

In a career game for Ranieli, she shot 7 of 7 from three, 11 of 14 from the field, with 35 points and five steals. She was also the only Marauder to score 20+ points in a game this season, a feat in which she achieved four seperate times.

Ranieli was 3rd in the PSAC in three-point percentage, 20th in the PSAC in scoring with 13.1 points, and 22nd in steals per game. Ranieli will look to build off a strong freshman season where she did everything all over the court for the Marauders.
