Wrestlers Snap Skid By Downing Wheeling Jesuit

Wheeling, W.Va. - On the strength of five decisions and Austin Camacci's major decision, the Millersville wrestling team topped Wheeling Jesuit 19-12 Friday evening, stopping a four dual losing streak.

The Marauders (3-4) won six of the 10 matches including the first three to build a 10-0 lead. Millersville did not surrender a single bonus point to the Cardinals as all four of the losses came by decision. The dual was closely contested throughout with four matches being decided by just one point.

Camacci, a freshman 125-pounder, started the dual with his third major decision and 10th victory of the season by scoring an 11-2 victory over Bradley Kakos. Thomas Nulty followed Camacci with a 10-6 decision over Scott Lopez.

Sophomore David Charles (141) moved his season record over .500 to 12-11 with a 3-0 blanking of Damon Outward. Wheeling Jesuit got on the board with a win at 149, but Zach Wawrzyniak-Bush responded by edging John Gershom 4-3 at 157 pounds. Zac Pincus followed with a 4-3 win of his own at 165 pounds. Wheeling Jesuit scored a pair of one-point decisions at 174 and 184 before freshman Aram Moffitt clinched the Marauders' third win with a hard-fought 8-2 win over Maxwell Lacy.

Moffitt boosted his record to 15-10 overall and 5-2 in duals with his win. He has won seven of his last nine matches.

The Marauders remain on the road Saturday and face No. 13 Pitt-Johnstown.
