
Marauders Win Six Events at Coach I Open

Results
Lancaster, Pa. - The Millersville women's indoor track and field team won six different events and had 18 top-three finishes at the Coach I Open on Friday night.
The Marauders began the meet by earning the top seven spots in the 800-meter run. Junior Brittney Martin won the event in 2:23.61 and Amanda Long, Megan Meyer, Erin Madison, Kayla Naughton, Abbey Daley, and Megan O'Neill finished in second through seventh, respectively. Fellow distance runners Taylour Mauro and Shannon Cruz earned top three results in the 1,000-meter dash. Mauro placed second in 3:20.04 and Cruz took third in 3:23.07.
In the 55-meter dash sophomore Kiara Allen continued her impressive sophomore campaign by claiming the top time when she crossed the finish line in 7.32 seconds. Teammates Erin Mason and Arianna Camel took second and third.
Sophomores Erin Madison and Kayla Naughton finished one-two in the 200-meter dash. Madison finished in 27.26 and Naughton was right behind her in 27.40.
On the field side Camel and Nicole Sokira garnered first place finishes for the Black and Gold. Camel leaped to meet best 1.62 meters in the high jump and Sokira's launch of 14.08 meters in the weight throw was good for the top distance. Marauders' Kelli Farris, Vanessa Hower, and Ann Kovacs placed second, third, and fourth in the weight throw. Farris also took third in the shot put with a toss of 10.44 meters.
Freshman Jessica White finished second in the pole vault with a 2.74 meter result.
Millersville also ran to the top two times in the 4x400-meter relay. The foursome of Daley, Meyer, Martin, and Long had the best finish at 4:19.80 and Allen, Judith Coast I Iracheta, White, and Mason finished in second with a result of 4:20.85.
The Marauders will travel to Lewisburg next weekend to compete in the Bison Open.
