Lock Haven, Pa. – After a year in which he went 9-8 overall in singles play, sophomore Jody Sambrick Jr. was named to the All-PSAC Men's Tennis Singles Team that was released on Friday.
Sambrick carried a 9-8 record overall, but went 3-2 in conference play, giving the team a boost when it needed it most from the No. 1 slot in the lineup. He went 8-7 in duals and 1-1 in tournament play. The second-year player won four of his final five matches.
The All-PSAC Singles selection for Sambrick makes it three consecutive years that a Marauder has landed on the six-player list. Last season, Preetham Moras took home honors, and Drew Slocum drew the distinction in 2011.
The Lampeter-Strasburg High School product was one of six players named to the singles team. Three of the six players were from Kutztown, and Edinboro and Mercyhurst both had one player each. You can view the full list of players right here.
