Kutztown, Pa. – Just a day after being blanked by the Philadelphia Rams on its home court, the men's tennis team couldn't come away with a match win for the second consecutive day, dropping Friday afternoon's match to Kutztown, 9-0.
Two of the team's doubles pairings won five points each, and the third tandem won three. Jody Sambrick Jr. and Niko Mucci were outdone, 8-5, as was the duo of Tucker Mertz and Dylan Ryan. In singles play, only Ryan was able to grab a set win, losing to Matthew Maguire by scores of 6-2, 3-6, 10-2.
The loss drops the Marauders to 2-9 on the season, but they have another chance to get back in the “W” column Saturday at home when the team hosts Bloomsburg. The match against the Huskies starts at 12 p.m.
