MATCH NOTES
• Millersville enters the final stretch of its schedule Wednesday evening against Kutztown, which is ranked No. 12 in Division II. The Marauders are 2-8 and are trying to avoid a winless PSAC schedule. Kutztown is 1-1 in the PSAC and still has four duals on the schedule including three against league opponents. Mercyhurst is in the driver's seat for the first-ever PSAC regular season title with a 4-0 record with only one PSAC dual remaining.
• Millersville has wrestled just once in the last 17 days, and that was a 25-12 loss to East Stroudsburg. Millersville's two dual wins have both come at Pucillo Gymnasium. Kutztown is riding a three-match winning streak, sweeping through the Super Region 1 Duals. The Golden Bears own three victories over nationally-ranked teams. They were also the highest-finishing Division II team at the PSAC Championships in December, taking fifth.
• Millersville's young roster has received a baptism by fire this season. A total of 63 dual matches have been wrestled by freshmen and sophomores. Only 34 have been wrestled by upperclassmen. Still, 141-pound David Charles is one of four wrestlers with 10 wins and boasts a 5-5 dual record. 197-pound sophomore Joel Suter missed a bulk of the early season with an injury but has posted a 4-1 record in his last five bouts. All four wins came by fall. Senior heavyweight Brad Ladd is quietly having another solid campaign. After winning 18 matches last season, Ladd is 15-9, ranked No. 4 in Super Region 1 and has won five consecutive matches. He also boasts an impressive 8-2 dual mark.
• Ladd will compete in the marquee match-up of tonight's dual. Kutztown's 285-pounder, sophomore Ziad Haddad, was the PSAC runner-up and is currently ranked No. 1 in Super Region 1 and No. 4 in Division II with an 18-2 record. He has won six consecutive matches. 197-pound Vinny Campanile is No. 2 in the region. Ladd and Haddad have never wrestled.
• In last year's meeting, Ladd scored a major decision. Probable Kutztown starters Evan Yenolevich, Ricky Pena, Giovanni Ortiz and Campanile all scored wins in the 36-10 Kutztown victory.
