NCAA Tournament Bracket
Millersville, Pa. - Millersville field hockey is in the NCAA Division II Tournament for the first time in program history and will host a familiar foe on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium.
Millersville earned the No. 2 seed from the NCAA South Region after winning the PSAC Championship and posting an 18-2 record. The No. 3 seed went to West Chester, which Millersville has played--and defeated--three times this season. Game time is set for 12 p.m.
Shippensburg received the No. 1 seed in the South Region for a spot in the NCAA Semifinal. The Raiders play the winner of the Millersville/West Chester game in Virginia Beach, Va. on Nov. 22. LIU Post, the only unbeaten team remaining in the nation, received the top seed in the North Region. The regional winners play in the national championship game at Old Dominion University on Nov. 23.
Millersville's last appearance in a NCAA Tournament was in 1990 when it was a Division III program. The Marauders played in five Division III Tournaments from 1984-1990 but has not returned to the national tournament since.
The 2013 club has already set a school record for wins in a season. Millersville and West Chester have met once on each home field and most recently, Friday, Nov. 8 at Shippensburg in the PSAC Semifinals. Millersville won the game 1-0 in overtime.
Ticket prices are $6 for adults, $4 for senior citizens, $2 for students, $1 for kids ages 12-2, and the first 100 Millersville students receive free admission with a valid student I.D.
