Millersville, Pa. - Millersville had two opportunities Saturday to break into the win column but came up on the wrong side of both duals. Gannon topped the Marauders 29-12 in the first dual of the day, and Lake Erie dealt the Marauders a 44-3 setback.

The lone Marauder wrestler to score wins in both duals was 141-pounded David Charles. He was Millersville's lone point against Lake Erie. The Marauders' record fell to 0-5 overall and 0-3 in the PSAC, while Gannon won in its first dual, and Lake Erie improved to 7-3.

Against Gannon, Charles won a hard-fought 3-1 decision over Adam Weinell for the Marauders' first points. Josh Ruppert followed with his team-leading seventh pin of the season. He scored a takedown to start, Michael Krysiak reversed, but Ruppert scored a reversal before getting the pin. Zac Wawrzyniak-Bush followed with an 8-2 decision at 157, giving Millersville a 12-9 lead after five matches. Gannon, however, won the next five bouts and kept the Marauders off the scoreboard.

Charles' evened his season record at 7-7 with a 5-2 decsion over Lake Erie's Cobey Fehr. After having wrestled Friday night and again early Saturday, the Marauders were clearly spent before wrestling a fresh Lake Erie squad. The Storm roared to nine wins including four pins, two tech falls and a major decision.

Millersville hosts the Mid-Penn Duals featuring seven local teams on Saturday, Jan. 12.
