Millersville, Pa. - The Millersville wrestling team won four bouts including two by fall to close the dual, but Mercyhurst remained unbeaten and kept the Marauders winless by a 26-18 score Friday evening in Pucillo Gymnasium.

Millersville (0-3, 0-2 PSAC) has now lost three duals by single-digit margins. Mercyhurst improved to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in league action with the win. Heavyweight Brad Ladd and 197-pound Daniel Cox closed the dual for Millersville in a strong way, both scoring falls. Zac Wawrzyniak-Bush also won in the tiebreaker at 157 pounds, and David Charles won at 141 pounds.

The Marauders trailed 7-0 when Charles stepped in against Joey Miller. Charles scored four takedowns and added an escape for a 9-4 decision. Mercyhurst increased its lead to 13-3 when Michael Griffith scored a fall on Josh Ruppert. Ruppert started quickly, hitting a takedown and nearly getting a pin, but Griffith reversed out of the hold and ended up pinning Ruppert after a flurry of action.

Wawrzyniak-Bush put Millersville back on the scoreboard. He and Ian Grecco each managed only one escape apiece in regulation and nearly could score in the overtime. Wawrzyniak-Bush had top position in the first 30 seconds of the tiebreaker and held on for all 30. He scored a 2-1 win by breaking Grecco's in his turn in the bottom position.

Mercyhurst extended its lead to 26-6 by the time Cox had his opportunity. Cox dominated Seth Stonis from the start and eventually earned a fall at 5:49. Ladd, who has now won each of his last two matches by fall and improved to 3-0 in dual matches, needed only 2:05 to pin Jeff Pollard. The pin was Ladd's fifth of the season.

The Marauders have two opportunities to notch a victory in the win column Saturday when it hosts Gannon and Lake Erie beginning at 12 p.m .
