Coyne Paces Marauders to Fifth-Place Finish

Clarion, Pa. - Clarion Oaks Golf Club must be one of Robert Coyne's favorite courses to play. One year after placing seventh at the Clarion hosted Hal Hansen Invitational, Coyne tied for sixth at the two day tournament that concluded Monday afternoon. As a team, the Marauders placed fifth.
Coyne was among three Marauders that posted a 3-over-par 75 in the second round. He fired an ever-par 72 in the opening round, marking the second consecutive year he shot a 72 on the course. It was the third top-10 finish of his collegiate career.
Also turning in 75's in the second round were sophomore Connor Gilbert, and senior Tim See. Junior Chris Fieger posted the team's best number of the day with a 2-over-par 74. Those scores helped the Marauders jump from sixth after day one to fifth at the close of play.
Millersville's team score was 602, just 17 shots behind West Chester's 585. The Golden Rams took the team crown.
The Marauders travel to West Lafayette, Ohio for the Powerade Atlantic Region Invitational on Sept. 17-18.
