
NCBWA Makes Royer National Pitcher of the Week

Millersville, Pa. - After claiming PSAC East and National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association (NCBWA) Atlantic Region Pitcher of the Week honors, senior hurler Mark Royer received national acclaim on Wednesday when he was named Division II pitcher of the week by the NCBWA and d2baseball.com.
The NCBWA weekly honors starts at the regional level and those eight winners are moved on to a national ballot where the award is voted on by a national committee. Tucker Brown of Central Oklahoma won the national player of the week award. D2baseball.com is a web site dedicated to publicizing baseball at the national level.
Royer received the award after throwing Millersville's first no-hitter since 2007 on March 26 against Lincoln. He struck out eight and did not walk a single batter in the 14-0 win. He was a hit batsman and two Millersville fielding errors away from a perfect game.
He is the first Marauder to win either of national pitcher of the week award and also the first Atlantic Region player to win either of the NCBWA awards this season.
Royer's Marauders return to action Friday at Marauder Park against PSAC East rival Mansfield. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 1 p.m.
