Malvern, Pa. - The Millersville women's golf team opened its spring schedule Monday at the Eastern University Invitational. Freshman Rachel Yurchak and sophomore Amber Rohrer both placed in the tournament's top 10.

Yurchak, whose previous best finish was 35th out of 55 golfers at the Clarion Invitational in the fall, placed fifth in a field of 24 Monday. She shot a 29-over-par 100 on the par 71 White Manor Country Club Course.

Rohrer placed three shots and three spots later in eighth. Rohrer has now placed in the top 10 in five of six tournaments this year.

The duo fared well on a difficult scoring course. Only Penn's Libby Hooton broke 90, and she only just did with an 18-over-par 89. Alvernia captured first place as a team.

The Marauders travel to Kutztown on March 31 for the Kutztown University Invitational. The following day, they head to West Chester for the two-day Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell College Golf Tournament.
