Men's Golf Wins Eastern University Invitational Team Crown

Malvern, Pa. - With four top-10 finishers, the Millersville men's golf team earned its first team title since 2009 by taking first place at Monday's Eastern University Invitational.
The Marauders bested a field of six teams and golfers from Penn and Swarthmore with a 32-over-par 316 on the par-71 White Manor Country Club course. The Marauders' last first-place finish came at the Wheeling Jesuit Invitational in the fall of 2009.
Freshman Conor Gilbert, who placed fifth at the St. James Plantation Invitational a week ago, fired a 2-over-par 73 to finish in second, one stroke behind Penn's Austin Powell.
Shane Henry tied for fifth in the 41-player field after shooting 9-over. Classmate Brian Cooper finished one shot behind Henry and in seventh. Jeff Stokes shot an 82 and tied for eighth.
Jonathan Heile and Tim See tied for 19th and Robert Coyne placed 27th.
The Marauders travel to West Chester on March 31 to begin the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell College Golf Tournament.
