Box Score West Chester, Pa. – Millersville made a late comeback after being down 21 in the second half to come within six points of West Chester, but the Golden Rams held on to defeat the Marauders 64-57 at Hollinger Field House Tuesday evening and advanced to the PSAC Quarterfinals.
West Chester (21-6) opened the second half on a 14-4 run to push its lead to 51-30--its largest of the game. Millersville (16-11) struggled early, shooting just 17 percent over the first 10 minutes but were able to come within 60-54 of the Golden Rams with 2:41 remaining after going on a 24-9 run.

Carly Gallagher led the late charge. Waters scored 12 of the teams' final 24 points, including two 3-pointers late. Gallagher scored eight points down the final stretch, including the 3-pointer that brought the game to 60-54 in favor of West Chester.
Gallagher connected on two free throws after being fouled on a putback attempt off a rebound on a missed Millersville free throw. The two free throws brought the Marauders within 62-57 and 1:03 on the clock.
West Chester was able to shut down Millersville over the last minute and hit two of its own free throws.
Millersville kept it close in the first 10 minutes of the opening half before West Chester pulled away to take its largest lead of 35-18. The Golden Rams used an 18-4 run over a five minute span.
The Marauders pushed back to bring the deficit to 11 points with 1:26 left in the half with a chance to cut West Chester's lead to under 10 points with 20 seconds left. But a backcourt violation gave the ball back to the Golden Rams to run out the clock.
West Chester shot 7-of-10 from behind the arc in the first half with Ambreelinne Ortman hitting 3-of-3 and Allison Hostetter and Zona Smith going 2-of-2 each. Millersville, however, struggled from the 3-point line in the first half going just 1-of-10.
Gallagher finished with a game-high 16 points, 10 of them in the final eight minutes of play. Waters finished with 12 points, all of which came in the second half. Four players for West Chester finished in double-figures.
The Golden Rams are now 4-6 against Millersville in the PSAC Tournament and will advance to play Edinboro on Friday in the conference semifinals.
