Edinboro, Pa. – On the final day of PSAC Championships Sunday at Edinboro University, three Marauders took home All-PSAC honors with top-three finishes in their events.
Katherine Lennex had the best finish of the day for Millesville, with a second-place triple jump distance of 11.54 meters. Lennex's jump was the second-best distance in school history. While the Penn Manor product already held that spot, she topped her career best on Sunday by three-hundredths of a meter. Her jump was still three-tenths of a meter behind the school record of 11.84 meters.
The Marauders also had two third-place finishers in distance events. A day after winning the 5,000-meter run, James McBride took third in the 3,000-meter race. The Wrightsville native posted a final time of 8:37.57, nearly three seconds shy of his season best time of 8:34.58, set in the Bucknell Winter Classic. Saturdy, McBride claimed Millersville's first win in an event at the PSAC Championships from a member of the men's team since 2003-04.
The other third place finisher was another Eastern York graduate. Elicia Anderson, who followed up her second-place performance in the 5,000-meter on Saturday, took third in the women's side of the 3,000-meter run. She was clocked at a time of 10:00.14, which is just shy of the school record time she set earlier this season at the Bison Open & Multis.
One other high finisher for the Marauders was Zach Kohler, who participated in the heptathlon. After a solid showing on the first day in the initial four events, the Pennridge product grabbed a fourth-place finish overall. In the last three events, Kohler took fifth in the 60-meter hurdles, fourth in the pole vault and fourth in the 1,000-meter run. His final point total was 4,666, good for the second-highest total in school history in the event.
Millersville's three All-PSAC awards from Sunday add to Saturday's total of four, giving the Marauders seven total All-PSAC performers for the weekend. The men's team finished in eighth place out of 12 teams and the women's team finished 10th out of 14 teams. The Marauders' outdoor season starts with a weekend trip from March 15-17 to Conway, S.C. for the Shamrock Invitational.
