Millersville Avenges Loss to Kutztown

Box Score Millersville, Pa. – Redshirt junior Aurielle Mosley scored a game-high 23 points  and collected 10 rebounds to lead Millersville past Kutztown 65-55 on Saturday at Pucillo Gymnasium. The Marauders avenged their 63-57 loss at Kutztown on Jan. 21.

Millersville (15-7, 12-6 PSAC) knotted the game at 23-23 with 1:01 remaining in the first half. The Marauders trailed Kutztown (6-18, 4-14 PSAC) for a span of 13 minutes before evening the game. The Golden Bears were able to break the tie to go into the break with a 26-25 lead.

Mosley, who scored Millersville's first six points of the game, finished the first half tied for a game-high 11 points with Kutztown's Steph Zewe.

The teams exchanged the lead five times in the second half. The fifth lead change, going in favor of Millersville with 8:20 remaining in regulation, was the last. The Marauders took a 46-44 lead after Miesha Cousins cleaned up the boards. Cousins finished the game with eight rebounds to tie her career high.

Kutztown kept it a two possession game until Millersville jumped out to its largest lead of the game with 3:02 left, up 58-50. Sophia Waters drained a shot from the left wing and then Cousins stole the ball and led Mosley for a layup for a four-point swing, forcing Kutztown to take a timeout.

Millersville's lead was down to five with 1:44 remaining after Avery Hodgson hit a jumper to bring the Golden Rams within 60-55 of the Marauders. Hodgson led the Golden Bears with 17 points, 11 in the second half.

Waters was clutch from the charity stripe in the final minute hitting 3-for-4 to give Millersville a 65-55 win over Kutztown. Waters finished the game with 11 points off the bench, all coming in the second half.

Mosley collected her 14th double-double of the season with 23 points and 10 rebounds, while also blocking four shots. Mosley is now 59 points away from 1,000 with four games left in the regular season.

Millersville travels to East Stroudsburg on Wednesday, Feb. 15 to take on the Warriors. The Marauders have bested East Stroudsburg 10-straight times and will look to make it 11 straight on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
