
Marauders Run to Eighth-Best Team Finish at Gettysburg

Gettysburg, Pa. – After two weeks off, the women's cross country team got back in action Saturday taking eighth place out of 36 teams at the Gettysburg Invitational with Sarah Mulvey leading the way.
Mulvey led the team for the fourth time in six races by placing eighth overall with a time of 22:56. It was Mulvey's best time in a 6K race this season by 38 seconds. The second-best Marauder time was logged by Elizabeth Reese, who ran a time of 23:27 to secure a 21st-place finish. Millersville's other three scorers in the race were Amanda Long, Brittney Martin and Sarah Fink.
Long raced to a time of 24:40 to finish in 64th place. It was her second-best time of the season. Martin who led the team three weeks ago at Lock Haven, clocked in at 25:07 to finish 80th. Fink finished 96th in a time of 25:35 for her second-best time of the year for the 6K distance. The Marauders sixth- and seventh-best runners were Mallory Austin and Emily Leighow, who placed 122nd and 135th, respectively. Austin had a time of 26:08 and Leighow's time was 26:29.
Millersville has its biggest race of the season to date next weekend, when the team runs in the PSAC Championships next Saturday. The team will have to navigate the course at Slippery Rock University. The race starts at 11:30 a.m.
