
Short-Handed Marauders Place 12th at Atlantic Region Invitational

West Lafayette, Ohio - With just four players entered into this week's Powerade Atlantic Region Invitational, the Millersville men's golf team could ill-afford a high score from any of its players. With no margin for error, the Marauders finished 12th in the 16-team field.
Millersville missed an opportunity to make an early statement toward an NCAA Atlantic Regional bid as 12 teams from the region competed in the event. The Marauders finished at 62-over-par and ahead of three region teams.
All four of Millersville's players counted toward its team score. A first round 314 set Millersville in 10th. The Marauders rallied for a 302 in round two but faltered in the final round and shot a 310--the fourth highest round of the day.
Freshman Conor Gilbert led the team with a solid 5-over-par score. After opening with a 75, he closed with two rounds of 1-over-par. He finished in a four-way tie for 13th.
Millersville's next finisher placed in a tie for 41st. Shane Henry broke 80 in all three rounds and shot 13-over-par. Brian Cooper was one stroke higher.
Millersville next travels to the Vulcan Invitational on Oct. 2.
