Box Score (Davis & Elkins)
Box Score (Fairmont State)

Williamston, N.C. - Millersville might want to consider playing all of its home games at Barnes Field in Williamston, N.C. On Saturday, the Marauders crushed eight home runs and scored a total of 29 runs in wins over Davis & Elkins and Fairmont State. Millersville defeated D&E 5-0 in the first outing of the day and then routed Fairmont State, 24-2.

Including the three-game sweep of Salem International last year, Millersville (4-2) has won all six games in Williamston by a combined score of 78-2. The team had pitched five-straight shutouts until Fairmont State (7-6) scored two in the first inning of Saturday's late game. The 24 runs scored were the most by a Millersville team since the 2000 squad defeated Philadelphia, 30-1.

Millersville had not hit a home run in its first four games, but Zach Stone and Mike August hit back-to-back bombs against Davis & Elkins (3-3), and the Marauders hit six more against Fairmont State. August hit two against FSU, giving him three on the day.

Jeff Heisey, Derek Kline, Ryan McCormick and Chris Edgar also hit homers against FSU. Edgar's came with the bases loaded in a nine-run second inning. It was his first career grand slam. McCormick's, which was part of a three-hit, one-walk and four-run performance, was his first since the 2009 season.

Millersville roared in front of Fairmont State by scoring five runs on four hits and two walks in the first inning. The Falcons picked up two against Marauder starter Kyle Belanchick, but Millersville's nine-run second inning more than put the game out of reach. The Marauders drew seven walks and needed just three hits to hang nine on the board. Millersville went on to score two runs in each of the next five innings.

Mike McMonagle (1-1) entered in relief in the third and hurled four shutout innings to pick up his first win since April 18, 2008. He surrendered just two hits and two walks while fanning six. Newcomer Brian Black was impressive in his Marauder debut, tossing three, near-perfect innings. He struck out three and gave up one hit and one walk.

Millersville sent 13 players to the plate, and 10 recorded a hit and 12 reached base. The team totaled 16 hits and drew 14 walks. Stone went 3-for-7 with three RBIs. Heisey also drove in three. August plated five runs and scored three while going 2-for-5 with a walk. Mike Perez totaled three RBIs on a bases loaded double. McCormick reached base four times (three hits and a walk) and scored four times. In addition to his grand slam, Edgar scored four runs, walked once and was hit by two pitches.

Kline was the star against D&E. After a rocky first outing at North Georgia, Kline bounced back by pitching seven shutout innings for his first win of the year. He allowed just three hits and a walked one while striking out five. He also recorded two hits at the plate.

Edgar went 3-for-5 with a double. August totaled two hits with a homer and stole a base. Stone drove in two runs for the Marauders.

Millersville finishes its four-game set in Williamston Sunday against Fairmont State.
