
Women's Golf Improves in Second Round But Finishes Eighth at PSAC's

Hershey, Pa. - Playing on the difficult Hershey Country Club East course, the Millersville women's golf team struggled through the first round of the PSAC Championship. The Marauders rebounded with a stronger final round but still finished in eighth place.
The par-71 course proved a tough test for the Marauders. The four-player team opened with a 429 total--33 shots behind seventh place East Stroudsburg.
Led by the efforts of Amber Rohrer and Allison Wray, the Marauders improved their score by 23 shots in the second round. Rohrer shot an 84--one of the lowest rounds of the day. It was an 11 stroke improvement for Rohrer, who finished in 25th place.
Rachel Yurchak was Millersville's No. 2 finisher. She totaled a 198 after rounds of 98 and 100 for a 32nd-place finish. Wray went 15 strokes lower on day two and finished in 37th. Katie Smith placed 38th.
Gannon University took the team title with all five players finishing in the top eight. Medalist honors went to Amanda Teodorsson of Gannon, who shot a 13-over-par 153.
It was just the third time for Millersville competing in the PSAC Championship and the first time it posted a team score.
