
Rhyner Finishes Third at Mountain Hawk Multi

Bethlehem, Pa. – Senior Jess Rhyner was the only member of the Millersville women's track and field team to represent the Marauders at the Mountain Hawk Multi at Lehigh University Friday evening. In day one of the event, Rhyner placed third out of eight competitors in the women's indoor pentathlon.
After the first three events, Millersville's Rhyner was tied for first place with Lehigh's Brooke Astor, totaling 1,876 points each. Rhyner was unable to hold on to the lead after the final two events as she fell to third place with 2,783 points. Lehigh's Astor would go on to win the pentathlon with 3,180 total points.
Rhyner took first place in the high jump reaching a height of 1.61 meters, beating her seasons best of 1.52 meters that was recorded at the Lehigh Multi back in December. Despite a sixth place finish in the 60-meter hurdles, she ran a time of 10.20 seconds cutting almost five-tenths of a second off her previous best of the year.
The Millersville men's team took two competitors to compete in the men's indoor heptathlon, but completed four events through day one. They will conclude the final three events tomorrow morning starting at 9 a.m. Brendon Thomas currently sits in first place, while Zac Kohler is in sixth place out of 11 competitors.
The Millersville men's and women's track in field teams will also be in action tomorrow at the Princeton Relays.
