Men Stand Out at 49er Classic

Charlotte, N.C. – The third day of the 49er Classic track and field meet has come to a close and the Millersville men's squad posted several standout marks.
Jim Boyer, competing in his first 3,000-meter steeplechase of the year, took home second place with a time of 9:29.35. Boyer was 15 seconds behind DePaul's Matthew Graham.
In the long jump, Derrick Bass landed a distance of 6.77 meters to earn fifth place. Stephen Boyd garnered an eighth-place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 13.57 meters.
One day after placing sixth in the preliminary run, Keith Ogden nabbed seventh in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking in at 55.53 seconds.
The men's 4x100-meter relay team ran a time of 42.83 seconds to earn sixth. Comprised of Anthony Adamski, Ogden, Bass, and Jeff Robinson, the group's time was just .55 seconds shy of the school record, set back in 1979.
In women's competition, Sarah Mulvey landed an impressive sixth in her first collegiate 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 12:08.78.
