
Men's 4x200 Sets School Record at Penn Relays

Philadelphia, Pa. – After two days of action at the Penn Relays, the world's largest track and field meet comprised of Division I, II, and III teams from across the country, Millersville athletes have posted remarkable performances.
The men's 4 x 200-relay team ran a school record-breaking time of 1:28.02 for 33rd place. The team, comprised of Keith Ogden, Jack Scanlin, Jeff Robinson, and Derrick Bass, beat the previous record from 2007 by .29 seconds. Bass was the lead off leg of the 2007 relay that previously held the record.
Senior Jim Boyer finished the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a season-best time of 9:25.26. Boyer's time, which landed him 12th place, was just .26 seconds shy of an NCAA-qualifying time.
The men's 4 x 400-meter relay team finished eighth with a time of 3:25.76.
Off the field, Jorrel Nugent and Bass finished 16th and 22nd in the long jump, respectively. Nugent leaped a distance of 22-7, while Bass tied his season-best jump with a distance of 22-2.5.
In women's action, Elicia Anderson ran a notable time of 16:59.21 in the 5,000-meter run. Her season-best time was just 2 seconds shy of a national-qualifying mark.
The Marauders host the Millersville Metrics track and field meet Saturday at Biemesderfer Stadium. Results will be made available after completion of the meet.
