Shepherdstown, W.Va. - Junior Taylor Suskie scored her second goal of the season, and it was all the Millersville women's soccer team needed to top Shepherd Saturday afternoon.
The goal, which came off an assist from Kiersten McLennan helped the Marauders breakthrough for their first win of the 2010 campaign. Kelsey Benson played in goal and notched the first shutout of her young career with eight saves.
The score stood tied at 0-0 after 45 minutes of play, but five minutes into the second period, Suskie beat Shepherd's Elizabeth Wise for the game-winner.
The Marauders peppered Wise throughout the game, forcing her to make 10 saves. The 14 shots matched a season high, and the 11 shots on goal was seven more than the previous high.
Millersville returns to action Sunday afternoon at home against Bloomsburg. The PSAC East contest was postponed because of rain earlier this year.
