Lexington, Va. - The Millersville wrestling squad just can't catch a break. Just when Jarrett Hostetter returned to the lineup, Mike Greck and Justin Fegley went down. With no one to fill two weight classes, the Marauders dropped two duals to Davidson and the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) Friday evening in Lexington, Va.

Millersville (3-8-1) have rarely had its full compliment of wrestlers this season. As many as five regulars have missed time this season. Just two weeks ago at the Virginia Duals, the Marauders cruised past Davidson, 25-17. On Friday, though, Millersville's forfeits at the 133 and 141-pound weight classes resulted in a 27-23 loss. VMI then topped the Marauders 34-14 in front of its home crowd.

Hostetter, wrestling at 157 pounds, had missed the last four Millersville matches but was impressive in his return. He pinned Davidson's Joe McGinley at 1:55 and followed that with his 93rd career win and his 16th of the season when he registered a 16-1 technical fall of VMI's Joe Munno.

Sophomore Shane Smith continued his mid-season tear, picking up a forfeit against Davidson and then notching his 10th pin of the season against VMI's Andrew Szymborski. Smith needed just 14 seconds score the fall. With the two wins, Smith improved his season record to 18-4 and ran his consecutive wins streak to 10.

Jason Foor (184) also picked up a quick pin against Davidson's Ike Crews, scoring it in 53 seconds. Freshman 197-pound Josh Marquard earned a 16-0 technical fall against Davidson as well. Senior 149-pound #J.J. Lester# recorded one of Millersville's three wins against VMI, notching a 3-2 decision.

The Marauders will have some time to rest their injuries. They do not return to the mats until Jan. 30 when they host Columbia and Pittsburgh at Pucillo Gymnasium. Both matches will be recorded for airing on Blue Ridge Cable Channel 11 and local Comcast channels.
