Marauders Knock Off No. 5 Bentley

The Millersville field hockey team bounced back quickly from Friday's season-opening loss with an upset over No. 5 Bentley Saturday in Waltham, Mass.
 
Senior forward #KristieTesta scored her first goal of the season on an assist from freshman Melissa McCarthy# a little more than four minutes into the second half, lifting the Marauders (1-1) to a 1-0 lead.
 
Millersville finished with 10 shots on goal, six in the second half against senior All-America goalie Alyssa Sliney. Bentley had trouble getting past the Marauders defense, only getting two shots on goal. Sophomore Sara Dickinson stopped both of the shots she faced to record her third career shutout.
 
Dating back to last season, it Millersville has toppled nationally-ranked opponent in two of its last three games.
 
Millersville improved to 1-1 after falling to No. 2 UMass Lowell Friday, and Bentley dropped to 1-1. Millersville returns to action over Labor Day weekend in Greensburg where they will face Seton Hill, Saturday, Sept. 5 at 1 p.m.
